What you will do

• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits with Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of insurance claims and monitor their status.
• Review denied or unpaid claims and perform corrective actions, including resubmissions and appeals.
• Navigate payer portals and phone systems to obtain necessary information for claim progression.
• Assist patients in navigating their financial journey with clarity and compassion.
• Maintain accurate records and provide administrative support for billing operations.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US and available for 8:30am-5pm PST shift.
• 2+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance claims, or revenue cycle operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare privacy regulations.
• Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and billing software (e.g., Epic, XiFin, Quadax).
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ICD and HCPCS/CPT coding.
• Experience with CMS 1500 claim forms and Claim Adjustment Reason Codes (NUCC).
