What you will do

• Incorporate Voice of the Customer insights into package design and finalize engineering criteria.
• Lead the creation of integrated technical solutions to resolve packaging issues while preserving design intent.
• Apply DFSS methodologies to manage tradeoffs across cost, mass, timing, and assembly.
• Ensure alignment between package models and customer-facing targets like spaciousness and visibility.
• Lead cross-functional surface and integration forums to drive issue resolution.
• Create NX models and support digital and physical design assessments including VR/MR mockups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in automotive engineering, vehicle integration, or packaging.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
• Proficiency with Siemens NX CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of engineering theory and automotive design principles.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and report to the Warren, MI location.

Nice to have

• DFSS certification (Green Belt or Black Belt).
• Experience with bodyside development, side closures, or sealing.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Jira.
• Coursework in statistics, mechanics of materials, or vehicle packaging.
