What you will do
- Lead and develop a team of Product Interface engineers and program leads.
- Serve as the primary manufacturing voice to Product Engineering throughout the vehicle development process.
- Drive cross-functional alignment to meet vehicle, plant, cost, and quality targets.
- Champion manufacturing requirements, best practices, and global standards in design forums.
- Evaluate product designs to identify and mitigate high-risk manufacturing issues early.
- Manage product interface operating mechanisms and support sourcing readiness.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in automotive product development, body manufacturing, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in complex environments.
- Working knowledge of the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP).
- Strong understanding of body manufacturing requirements and assembly strategies.
- Ability to balance product, manufacturing, and program trade-offs.
- Must be able to work on-site in Warren, Michigan at least 3 times per week.
Nice to have
- Experience with Body-In-White tooling and body shop automation.
- Knowledge of GD&T, sheet metal formability, and joining methods.
- Experience with digital product/process tools and math-based evaluations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
