Salary: $176,000–$188,000 CAD

What you will do

• Manage backend development team activities, including delivery, maintenance, and modernization of client-facing solutions.
• Prioritize team capacity, allocate resources, and coordinate with architecture, product, and security teams.
• Oversee code releases, deployments, Level 3 production support, and incident response for business-critical workflows.
• Lead complex enterprise job scheduling processes and data-processing pipelines using Control-M.
• Mentor and coach team members, conduct performance assessments, and build a high-performing engineering culture.
• Guide technical direction across Java REST services, microservices, and secure API integration patterns.

Requirements

• Current work authorization for Canada is required.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a transition into technical leadership or management.
• 3+ years of direct engineering management experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Strong understanding of MS SQL Server or Oracle and complex data modeling.
• Experience leading modern software development practices, including Agile/Scrum and CI/CD.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with financial data processing, ETL, and enterprise scheduling platforms like Control-M.
• Knowledge of modern web frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Completion of the Canadian Securities Course.
• Experience integrating AI-enabled development assistants into engineering workflows.
