Staff Accountant (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end accounts payable processing, including invoice coding and approval workflows.
• Manage vendor onboarding, maintain master data, and collect W-9 documentation.
• Execute weekly payment runs via ACH, wire, and check.
• Support monthly close through AP accruals and subledger reconciliations.
• Assist with account reconciliations for prepaid expenses, credit cards, and clearing accounts.
• Optimize and automate AP workflows to improve accuracy and turnaround time.

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles (debits/credits, accruals).
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (SUMIF, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Strong attention to detail and clear verbal/written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with ERPs like NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or Workday.
• Familiarity with Bill.com and 1099 preparation.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Legal or People.
