What you will do

• Lead appraisal and progression of Habitat Bank opportunities from initial enquiry to commercial offer stage, meeting agreed timelines and objectives.
• Conduct ecological surveys, including site walkovers, UK Habitat Classification, and habitat condition assessments.
• Complete early-stage feasibility assessments covering ecological potential, risks, constraints, BNG suitability, and likely deliverability.
• Analyse ecological data and produce BNG assessments using the Statutory Biodiversity Metric to determine baseline units and uplift potential.
• Develop concept Habitat Bank designs and produce written outputs and GIS mapping to support commercial offers.
• Build relationships with landowners, stakeholders, and internal commercial teams to support negotiations, site visits, and promotion of opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in ecology, environmental science, biology, or a related discipline.
• Full or Associate CIEEM membership.
• FISC Level 3 (ideally Level 4) or equivalent botanical competency.
• Experience conducting ecological surveys and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, including use of the Statutory Biodiversity Metric and GIS software.
• Strong understanding of UK ecology, including species identification, habitat classification, and conservation priorities.
• Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the country.
