What you will do
- Own the technical direction, strategy, and roadmap for the pricing ML engine as a core piece of company IP.
- Formulate and solve complex pricing problems using stochastic programming, reinforcement learning, or classical ML to optimize signing probability and margin.
- Build and ship production-grade Python models end-to-end, from mathematical formulation to deployment.
- Develop probabilistic models to optimize risk management and short-term balancing decisions in dynamic environments.
- Act as the primary technical voice for pricing ML, translating complex model behaviors for commercial and product stakeholders.
Requirements
- Deep experience building ML syss for pricing, revenue optimization, or real-time decision-making in production.
- Strong foundation in stochastic optimization and probabilistic modelling.
- Ability to apply first-principles reasoning to choose the appropriate mathematical approach for ambiguous business problems.
- Engineering depth in production-grade Python with a high bar for code quality.
- Proven track record of senior technical leadership and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Must be based in the United Kingdom.
Nice to have
- Experience with real-time pricing at scale (e.g., ride-hailing, food delivery, or logistics).
- Familiarity with energy markets, power trading, or portfolio risk management.
- PhD or equivalent research depth in statistics, applied mathematics, or operations research.
- Knowledge of trade-offs between optimization solvers (Gurobi) and gradient-based methods (PyTorch).
- Experience with causal inference or RL in applied commercial settings.
