Software Development Manager (SaaS)

Software Development Manager (SaaS): Leading engineering teams to build and scale legal AI technology with an accent on people growth, technical execution, and product delivery. Location: Remote within Canada (excluding Quebec). Candidates local to Vancouver, Calgary, or Toronto must be in-office minimum twice per week.

Salary: $176,000 – $264,000 CAD

What you will do

• Collaborate with the triad (Designer + Product + Dev manager) to identify impactful opportunities and craft the team roadmap.
• Lead the design of technical solutions and provide high-quality feedback through code and architecture reviews.
• Actively contribute to projects through extensive code reviews or by shipping code.
• Mentor direct reports via 1:1 meetings to support their career growth and professional development goals.
• Drive hiring efforts to expand and strengthen the engineering team.

Requirements

• Demonstrated success in people leadership for large-scale SaaS products.
• Strong background in hands-on software development and ability to solve complex technical problems.
• Proven ability to hire, coach, and retain top engineering talent in a fast-paced market.
• Must be based in Canada (excluding Quebec).
• Local hub candidates (Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto) must be in-office at least twice per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with CRM products at scale.
• Proficiency with Ruby on Rails or Python.
