TL;DR

Senior Engineer (Test Process) (Manufacturing): Developing and optimizing backend HDD manufacturing processes with an accent on process capability improvements and statistical analysis. Focus on resolving process excursions via root cause analysis and leading design of experiments (DOE) to ensure high yield and robustness.

Location: Onsite in Woodlands, Singapore. Must be open to travel to Thailand for one month for On-the-job training.

What you will do

• Manage and sustain critical backend manufacturing processes, monitoring daily yield and SPC trends.
• Perform structured root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC) to resolve chronic process issues.
• Lead design of experiments (DOE), process characterization, Gage R&R, and capability studies.
• Collaborate with equipment and automation teams for recipe refinement and failure mode reduction.
• Develop and release process documentation, work instructions, PFMEA, and control plans.
• Support NPI builds, engineering trials, and qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Chemical, Mechatronics, or related engineering.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing utilizing SPC and DOE.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis and process optimization.
• Familiarity with metrology tools and precision measurement systems.
• Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma tools and problem-solving frameworks.
• Must be open to travel to Thailand for one month for On-the-job training.

Nice to have

• Experience in HDD, semiconductor, or precision engineering industries.
• Proficiency in JMP, Minitab, or Python for statistical analysis.
• Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects.
• Understanding of automation interfaces and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
