Data Scientist (AI)

Location: New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA. Hybrid policy: staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office attendance.

Annual salary: $285,000–$380,000 USD

What you will do

• Analyze user behavior data to identify safety concerns and enforcement opportunities.
• Define core success metrics, set goals, build forecasts, monitor performance, and develop actionable reporting.
• Identify and size product improvement opportunities and influence the product roadmap through analysis and recommendations.
• Develop hypotheses, design controlled experiments, analyze results, and recommend changes based on metric impact.
• Establish foundational data best practices and improve data accessibility across the company.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, policy, and enforcement teams.

Requirements

• Expertise in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools.
• Experience turning open questions and data into concise, insightful analysis.
• Strong written communication and presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.
• Ability to take initiative, operate with urgency, and create clarity in ambiguous situations.
• Passion for building helpful, honest, and harmless AI systems.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of experience in data science or analytics, preferably in infrastructure or operations.
• 3+ years of experience embedded deeply in product teams.
• Experience with safety, anti-abuse, or integrity problems.
