What you will do

• Act as the primary controls-focused mechanical SME for cooling infrastructure including chillers, CDUs, and immersion cooling skids.
• Review and validate sequence of operations, P&IDs, and vendor control narratives to ensure alignment with internal standards.
• Interface with OEMs and skid manufacturers to define controls interfaces and approve network architectures.
• Collaborate with controls engineers to ensure mechanical systems align with PLC architecture, OT cybersecurity, and alarm philosophies.
• Participate in risk assessments, FMEA sessions, and commissioning activities (HAT, FAT, SAT) for mechanical systems.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of mechanical and controls integration standards and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience with mechanical systems in mission-critical or industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of data center cooling systems and modular mechanical skids.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, instrumentation diagrams, and control interface documentation.
• Solid understanding of industrial control concepts including PLC-based systems and BMS integration.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada or the US.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng / PE) certification.
• Experience supporting commissioning of mission-critical facilities.
• Familiarity with Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet, and industrial networking concepts.
