System Design Engineer

What you will do

• Design and develop emissions testing systems and complete laboratory/test cell solutions for engine, powertrain, vehicle, and component applications.
• Define system architectures and technical requirements, including system layouts and process/instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and functional descriptions.
• Coordinate technical interfaces between emissions analyzers, sample handling, dilution tunnels, particulate measurement, automation, facility utilities, and customer-owned equipment.
• Support equipment selection, procurement, factory acceptance testing, commissioning, and site acceptance activities.
• Troubleshoot integration and design issues and develop technical solutions; support verification and validation for performance and compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout project execution.

Requirements

• Work authorization: unrestricted authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis; employer will not sponsor a work visa.
• 3–5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and chemical process calculations (including dew point analysis, airflow characterization, pressure loss, duct sizing, calibration methods, and mass/chemical balance).
• Experience with emissions measurement systems and test cell/laboratory integration, including emissions analyzers, particulate measurement, dilution systems, and sample handling instrumentation.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, automation, and facility infrastructure systems used in test laboratories.
