Design Specialist (Creo): Creating mechanical and electromechanical concepts and design packages for components, assemblies, tools, and products with an accent on model-centric Creo modeling and fully associative drawing creation. Focus on ASME/military-standard documentation, design checks, tolerance studies, and technical calculations to ensure producibility, viability, and accurate integration.

Salary: $40.00–$46.80/hr (W2 hourly contract only, limited benefits)

hirify.global hires a Design Specialist to produce engineering design concepts and drawing packages for components and assemblies.

What you will do

• Develop innovative mechanical and electromechanical design concepts that meet functional and operational requirements for existing and new product programs.
• Create moderately complex design layouts, schematics, and sketches (including test plans/procedures/specifications) to satisfy system and integration requirements within cost and producibility constraints.
• Prepare drawing packages to military or equivalent ASME standards and ensure clarity, completeness, and conformance to engineering and industrial codes.
• Perform design evaluations and technical calculations (tolerance studies, mass/section properties, static and dynamic loading) and validate calculations and dimensions.
• Identify assembly interferences, design errors/omissions, and recommend revisions or improvements; assess producibility, tolerances, fits, finishes, and materials.
• Consult internal customers (and external customers when needed) to resolve moderately complex technical design problems.

Requirements

• US Citizenship and residency required.
• Associate Degree/Certification in engineering drafting/design (or equivalent training and experience) plus at least 6 additional years of drafting and design experience, including a minimum of 2 years of design work.
• Current Creo experience with strong knowledge of both modeling and fully associative drawing creation.
• Experience creating model-centric models and drawings in Creo; ability to define design standards and configurations.
• Proficiency applying Computer Aided Design methodologies and reviewing engineering documents for compliance with engineering and military standards.
• Ability to provide expert technical consultation on design and drafting topics.
