Design Specialist (Mechanical Design)

Location: Onsite in Phoenix, Arizona; US citizenship and residency required

Salary: $40.00–$46.80 per hour with limited benefits; W2 hourly contract only

What you will do

• Create mechanical and electromechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products.
• Prepare design layouts, schematics, sketches, test plans, procedures, and specifications for product development programs.
• Develop drawing packages in accordance with military or equivalent ASME standards.
• Review engineering documentation, calculations, dimensions, tolerances, fits, finishes, materials, and design changes for accuracy and compliance.
• Perform design evaluations, tolerance studies, mass and section property calculations, and static and dynamic loading analyses.
• Identify assembly interference, design deficiencies, and integration issues while collaborating with internal and external customers on technical solutions.

Requirements

• US citizenship and residency required.
• Associate degree or certification in engineering drafting/design, or equivalent training and experience, plus at least six additional years of drafting and design experience, including two years of design work.
• Current Creo experience required, including modeling, fully associative drawing creation, and model-centric models and drawings.
• Experience defining design standards and configurations.
• Knowledge of computer-aided design methodologies, theories, and techniques.
• Ability to review documentation for compliance with engineering, military, and industrial standards and specifications.
