What you will do

• Architect and design scalable, high-availability backend systems using Java and C++ on Unix/Linux platforms.
• Drive technical strategy and establish unified architectural standards for mail APIs and metadata systems.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools (CodeWhisperer, Amazon Q) to optimize workflows and automate repetitive coding and testing tasks.
• Mentor senior engineers and conduct rigorous system design reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Security teams to translate product visions into technical architectures.
• Diagnose complex system anomalies and implement automated telemetry and debugging workflows.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Specialized expertise in high-concurrency backend development with Java and C++.
• Deep knowledge of data structures, multi-threading, and advanced algorithms.
• Experience with Relational and NoSQL database design and query optimization.
• Must be based in the USA to align with hybrid work requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale mail applications and communication protocols.
• Familiarity with LLM frameworks such as AWS Bedrock or SageMaker.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, or AWS cloud architectures.
