Product Design Lead (Consumer Growth & Access): Building and scaling direct-to-consumer healthcare experiences with an accent on consumer growth, healthcare access, trust-sensitive product craft, and AI-native ways of working. Focus on designing and optimizing end-to-end journeys (0→1 and live funnel improvements) across onboarding, eligibility, pricing/payment, prescriptions, activation, retention, and cross-sell while solving complex clinical, operational, regulatory, and commercial UX challenges.
Location: New York, NY; Remote, US (Hub cities)
Salary: $250,000-$300,000 per year

What you will do
- Design and improve consumer journeys to help users discover, understand, trust, start, and continue care across the full lifecycle.
- Simplify healthcare access, coverage, and cost decisions through UX for benefits/insurance, self-pay pricing, prescriptions, pharmacy access, eligibility, and next steps.
- Own high-priority product design work while leading a small team of senior Product Design/UXR practitioners (hands-on player-coach).
- Drive continuous optimization of live consumer journeys using research, experimentation, and data-informed design craft.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Growth, Data, Clinical, Legal, Operations, and Support to resolve end-to-end complexity in the user experience.
- Help the team use AI to work closer to users, data, engineering, and working software.
Requirements
- 7+ years of product design experience, including complex consumer journeys and 0→1 product growth.
- Experience formally managing or leading design teams.
- Strong hands-on product design craft across UX, prototyping, visual design, mobile apps, and responsive web.
- Portfolio demonstrating D2C product design leadership, systems thinking, data-driven decision-making, and measurable impact.
- Experience designing for trust, comprehension, eligibility, pricing, access, personal data, or complex decision-making.
- Experience with growth and lifecycle journeys (onboarding, conversion, activation, retention, cross-sell) informed by research, data, and experimentation.
Nice to have
- Experience in healthcare, women’s health, telehealth, digital health, insurance, fintech, marketplaces, or consumer subscriptions (regulated/trust-sensitive domains).
- Experience designing flows involving insurance, benefits, prescriptions, clinical eligibility, payments, care navigation, or personal health information.
- Experience in competitive direct-to-consumer categories where acquisition, conversion, trust, differentiation, and retention matter.
- Strong AI-native workflow and informed opinions on how AI can improve design quality, team capacity, and business value.
