What you will do

• Host weekly live sessions focused on the design/decision layer (service boundaries, scaling and failure modes, and tradeoffs).
• Run group office hours and 1:1 sessions for projects and the capstone.
• Review student work against rubrics, including architecture dossiers, deployed backends, cloud infrastructure, performance reports, security reviews, and the distributed-systems capstone.
• Provide senior-level architectural feedback (not pass/fail), diagnosing unsound decisions, incorrect interfaces, and unrealistic scope.
• Run mock architecture review boards and simulated executive-panel presentations with structured critique.
• Set the technical standard for supporting instructors and serve as the escalation point for architecture/design calls.

Requirements

• 5+ years as a senior software/systems architect, platform engineer, or senior backend/infrastructure engineer.
• Designed and shipped systems at scale in a real company (not only coursework/side projects).
• Strong architectural depth across system design, API/service architecture, cloud & infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD), and distributed systems.
• Ability to explain why decisions were made, diagnose architecture live, and critique others’ designs.
• Strong technical communication for leading live sessions and writing clear, specific review feedback.
• English: C1+ required (instruction and review in English for a US-based audience).
