What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend services that power conversational AI features for Gen Z customers.
• Integrate AI agents and Large Language Models (LLMs) with internal systems using APIs and event-driven patterns.
• Develop secure context and memory flows to ensure AI interactions remain reliable, explainable, and useful.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and data scientists to translate customer journeys into backend capabilities.
• Define how conversational context is stored and retrieved and how decisions are made within AI flows.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in backend software engineering.
• Proficiency in backend development using Python and Java.
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs and integration patterns.
• Familiarity with AI-agent architectures, including tool invocation, context persistence, and guardrails.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and distributed system patterns.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Utrecht, Netherlands.

• Previous experience working at hirify.global and familiarity with their backend landscape.
