Senior Software Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Java): Define, analyze, and resolve complex customer escalations with an accent on AI-assisted debugging, root-cause analysis, and production defect remediation. Focus on end-to-end patch development with automated test generation, code review, release validation, and secure vulnerability fixing while maintaining calm delivery under a fast-paced, high-stress pace.

What you will do

• Investigate and resolve complex customer escalations with timely, accurate outcomes.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) for log analysis, root cause identification, and defect diagnosis.
• Deliver production code fixes end to end: defect confirmation, AI-assisted patch development, automated test generation, code review, and release validation.
• Provide status updates and document complex issue resolutions for customers and internal reference.
• Navigate large, unfamiliar codebases quickly to assess defect blast radius and choose the safest fix path.
• Participate in periodic after-hours/weekend coverage via a Pager rotation.

Requirements

• Must be located in the eastern or central US for a 100% remote role.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues.
• OS experience with Linux/UNIX and/or Windows.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise Java/JVM stack (preferred Java) including JDBC and JDK/JVM stack traces.
• Experience with static/dynamic security scanning and fixing vulnerabilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with spec-driven or agent-assisted development workflows (translating problems into specifications, validating AI-generated outputs via tests and reviews).
