Substation Designer (Engineering)

What you will do

• Create and check general arrangement, anchor bolt, and foundation plans.
• Develop grounding, lightning shielding, and lighting plans for substation projects.
• Generate structural shop and erection drawings, including steel and PFB details.
• Prepare material lists, tube cutting schedules, and bolt counts.
• Assemble catalog cuts of equipment for construction reference manuals.
• Interface with structural engineers and project managers to ensure project accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Simulation Animation, or a related technical field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience in 3D modeling or AutoCAD will be considered.
• Ability to read and interpret complex layout drawings and technical documents.
• Strong team collaboration skills combined with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work on-site in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Nice to have

• Experience using Autodesk Inventor.
• Previous experience in high-voltage CAD drafting or steel detailing.
