Location: Must be based in or able to work from New York City (Hybrid)

Salary: $140,000–$170,000

What you will do

• Contribute to the development of Astro Platform architecture and core components under senior guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and iterate on platform features.
• Work with frontend developers and product management to deliver customer-facing APIs and UI experiences.
• Apply best practices for building reliable, scalable platform software.
• Ensure overall platform usability, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Interest in building performant, scalable, and reliable backend systems.
• Exposure to at least one backend programming language (Go, Python, Java, etc.).
• Familiarity with SQL databases and distributed systems concepts.
• Understanding of software development best practices including testing, version control, and debugging.
• Experience leveraging AI coding assistants and LLMs for development acceleration.

Nice to have

• Internship or co-op experience in a software engineering role.
• Contributions to open source projects.
• Experience with Go.
• Experience with Apache Airflow or related workflow orchestrators.
