What you will do

• Provide strategic legal advice on regulatory enforcement, investigations, and notices.
• Represent and defend the organization in regulatory actions and tribunal proceedings.
• Conduct legal research to provide actionable advice on high-risk issues involving liquor, gaming, tobacco, food, and AML/CTF.
• Guide the development and marketing of regulated products to mitigate legal risks and defend campaigns against complaints.
• Independently manage legal cases, customer disputes, and high-risk regulatory escalations.
• Collaborate with financial crime, gaming compliance, and operations teams to unify defense strategies.

Requirements

• Law degree and admission as a solicitor in an Australian jurisdiction with a current unrestricted practicing certificate.
• 6+ years of post-admission experience (PQE) specializing in regulatory enforcement or commercial litigation.
• Professional background within a top-tier/reputable national mid-tier law firm or a sophisticated in-house legal team.
• Proven track record of independently managing complex contentious matters and regulatory investigations.
• Direct experience interacting with regulators such as AUSTRAC, the ACCC, or state liquor/gaming authorities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for drafting high-stakes legal submissions and witness statements.
