Staff Software Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Partner with scientific teams to audit workflows and execute client contracts end-to-end.
• Design and deploy high-velocity code to extend tools and automate R&D workflows.
• Translate requirements between researchers and product teams to ensure scientific rigor.
• Manage and optimize cloud-based compute resources and data pipelines.
• Integrate LQMs and Agentic systems into bespoke client environments.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with deep Python proficiency.
• Experience with cloud orchestration (Kubernetes, Batch systems) and Airflow.
• Expertise in building REST APIs, database management (ORMs, schemas), and Terraform.
• Proven ability to operate independently in high-ambiguity, fast-moving environments.
• Must be based in the US, UK, or Canada

Nice to have

• Domain expertise in drug discovery, cheminformatics, or advanced materials.
• Experience with scientific code for simulation or numerical optimization.
• Familiarity with HPC, GPU programming, and optimization.
• Exposure to AI knowledge graphs, AI agents, or multi-agent systems.
