Staff Software Engineer, Copilot Code Review (AI)

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: USD $140,400–$372,300 per year, plus potential bonus, stock, and other rewards.

What you will do

• Own ambiguous product problems and deliver solutions end to end.
• Advance Copilot's code-review agent by improving its context, memory, and ability to improve over time.
• Define effective reviews for different classes of code and build evaluation systems to measure them.
• Balance review quality, latency, and infrastructure cost while quantifying product improvements.
• Shape the review experience across VS Code, the hirify.global Copilot app, hirify.global Copilot CLI, and pull requests.
• Operate and improve a high-throughput service at hirify.global scale, including an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience through other education and experience combinations.
• Proven experience maintaining and delivering production software in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• Hands-on experience pushing coding agents to their limits and understanding where they should and should not own engineering work.
• Experience owning measurement for a model-driven product and identifying misleading metric changes.
• Operational experience running distributed services at scale.

Nice to have

• Deep experience with Go, Ruby, TypeScript, or Python.
• Experience shipping an LLM-backed or agentic product, or the evaluation infrastructure behind one.
