What you will do

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of engineers through process development, implementation, and startup at plant facilities.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, investment requirements, timelines, and budgets.
• Oversee equipment and tooling implementation, installation, and startup activities onsite.
• Ensure strict compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (operations, quality, supply chain) and provide technical oversight to strategic suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify cost reduction opportunities across manufacturing processes.

Requirements

• Must have existing US work authorization; GM does not provide immigration sponsorship (H1-B, OPT, etc.).
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
• Proven success delivering projects in a manufacturing environment, specifically equipment installation and construction.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and lean manufacturing principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Previous supervisory or people leadership experience.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing and launching new products.
• Familiarity with robotics and automation technologies.
• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
• Master’s degree in Engineering.
