Supplier Quality Global Commodity Lead (Automotive)

What you will do

• Act as the technical liaison between purchasing, product engineering, manufacturing, and the supply base.
• Ensure supplier compliance with APQP processes and PPAP submission and approval requirements.
• Review and approve supplier quality plans, including Control Plans and PFMEA for new components.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for supplier quality issues via on-site visits.
• Serve as the Global Commodity Lead for overhead systems, supporting sourcing and managing quality requirements.
• Lead global read-across (GRA) activities and drive continuous improvements in supplier quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, etc.) or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality, engineering, and/or manufacturing.
• Proficiency in print reading, part measurement, gage design, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of probability, statistical quality control, and design of experiments.
• Ability to travel up to 50% (domestic and international).
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Business or Engineering.
• Three or more years of OEM or Tier 1 automotive experience.
• Experience with Statistical Problem Solving (Red X, DFSS, DMAIC).
• Expertise in Lean Manufacturing or Manufacturing Quality.
• Technical and Quality professional certifications.
