TL;DR

Electrical Project Engineer - Mission Critical (Federal) (Electrical Engineering): Designing and developing highly reliable electrical systems for Federal DoD clients with an accent on power continuity, system redundancy, and mission assurance. Focus on low and medium voltage power distribution, standby power systems, and detailed engineering calculations for complex federal installations.

Location: Must be based in Arlington, VA; U.S. citizenship is a requirement. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days.

What you will do

  • Design Mission Critical electrical systems including LV/MV power distribution, UPS, and generator systems.
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations, including load flow, short circuit analysis, and arc flash evaluations.
  • Support Federal DoD clients such as USACE, NAVFAC, and AFCEC throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and informal mentoring to associate engineers and interns.
  • Manage assigned electrical scope to meet budget, schedule, and quality expectations.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is strictly required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Active engineering registration or licensure (EOR).
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM).

Nice to have

  • Experience with microgrids, controls, communications, or secure facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience with power reliability or Federal/DoD infrastructure.
