Network Engineer (Cloud)

TL;DR

Network Engineer (Cloud Networking): Designing and deploying network services within Thrive Datacentres and the regional Thrive Cloud platform with an accent on multi-tenant infrastructure and high-availability routing. Focus on implementing complex routing protocols, managing next-gen firewalls, and conducting disaster recovery tests.

Location: Must be based in the USA (Frequent visiting of datacentres throughout the USA required)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain the regional Thrive Cloud network and internal networking infrastructure.
• Research and tailor new networking and security solutions to meet internal and customer business requirements.
• Provide on-call support for network escalations on a rotating basis.
• Create technical documentation including MS Visio diagrams, high/low level designs, and knowledge base articles.
• Perform hardware deployment, racking, and cabling within datacenters across the USA.
• Collaborate on client consultancy and participate in disaster recovery (DR) tests.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of network engineering and administration experience.
• CCNP level certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience with multi-tenant infrastructure, including Cisco VRF-Lite and Fortinet VDOMS.
• In-depth understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and switching technologies (PVST, RSTP, MST, LACP).
• Experience deploying Nextgen firewalls (Fortinet, Meraki, Palo Alto, Cisco).

Nice to have

• Exposure to VMWare hosts and SANs.
• Experience with network monitoring platforms such as Solarwinds, PRTG, or Nable.
• Practical experience in datacenter environments dealing with SmartHands and cross-connects.
