Software Engineer (Embedded)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Embedded): Developing and integrating embedded software for vehicle body domains with an accent on C programming, system design, and unit testing. Focus on collaborating within an Agile-Scrum team to implement Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) requirements and ensuring high-quality software performance across electric vehicle portfolios.

Location: Must be based in Milford, Michigan (Hybrid: expected to report to the office at least 3 times a week)

What you will do

• Collaborate with software architects to implement SDV requirements and designs.
• Develop embedded software for vehicle body domains using C.
• Create and integrate software interfaces to enhance system capabilities.
• Design and execute comprehensive test cases at unit, component, and integrated levels.
• Identify and resolve software issues while contributing to the team knowledge base.
• Manage software components within the Git repository ecosystem.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of professional embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in writing and debugging C code.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working in geographically dispersed teams.
• Ability to work independently within an Agile-Scrum environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with AUTOSAR framework, Vector, and Automotive Ethernet.
• Familiarity with GM or automotive software standards and build processes.
• Proficiency in C++ or Python.
• Experience with DevOps practices and SIL/HIL virtual testing environments.
• Prior experience with SAFe methodologies.
