Senior Android Engineer (Android)

Location: Hybrid role based at hirify.global's New York City headquarters

Base salary: $173,478–$213,957 USD per year

What you will do

• Build engaging, responsive, and scalable member-facing features for hirify.global Bike, Tread, and Row devices.
• Develop and modernize the Android software embedded in hirify.global hardware from concept through deployment.
• Profile UI, memory, and threading performance to deliver reliable user experiences.
• Partner with Product, UX, and Design to assess feasibility, manage dependencies, and translate requirements into production code.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and improve engineering processes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software development experience, including 4+ years of dedicated Android development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Deep knowledge of Kotlin, Java, Android threading, MVVM, and MVI.
• Strong experience with REST APIs, data processing, and complex engineering trade-offs.
• Ability to work independently, coordinate across teams, and turn product and design requirements into high-performance software.
• Experience with continuous build integration in an Agile environment is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Espresso or other automation testing frameworks.
• Exposure to gRPC and GraphQL.
• Active GitHub projects or open-source contributions.
