Controls Engineer (Automation)

What you will do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve manufacturing process and automation issues affecting downtime, quality, productivity, and reliability.
• Design, program, test, debug, commission, and maintain PLC and HMI control systems.
• Develop and integrate controls for automation equipment, robotics, and machine vision systems.
• Lead system integration, equipment start-up, installation, adjustment, and post-start-up support.
• Coordinate maintenance, production, engineering, vendors, and project teams during automation upgrades and new line launches.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, documentation, PLC revisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience working with automated manufacturing processes.
• Solid programming experience with Allen Bradley Rockwell Automation software, including Studio 5000, and Siemens S7.
• Experience with ControlLogix, RSLogix 5000, SLC 500, RSLogix 500, and PanelView HMI.
• Ability to program using Ladder Diagram, Functional Block Diagram, and Structured Text.

Nice to have

• Experience with Omron PLCs, WinCC, Weintek, KUKA, FANUC, Kawasaki, Keyence, Cognex, Device Wise, SQL, ACC, or LabVIEW.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Just-In-Sequence, NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards.
