What you will do

  • Take full ownership of core backend applications, defining the architecture for scalability and performance.
  • Lead the technical migration of large-scale custom middleware using incremental steps.
  • Collaborate with the Product Lead to balance the roadmap between business features and technical debt reduction.
  • Mentor and coach backend engineers to simplify system complexity and advance their careers.
  • Manage the hiring and onboarding of engineering talent.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for the unit regarding API schemas and integration contracts.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in executing "Strangler Fig" migrations or similar legacy-to-modern architectural shifts.
  • Deep experience with high-volume data pipelines and message queues such as SQS or RabbitMQ.
  • Expertise in implementing logging, tracing, and monitoring to improve system visibility.
  • Ability to manage complex project timelines in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.
  • Strong proponent of maintainable industry standards over over-engineered custom frameworks.
