Salary: €3,059 - €3,881 gross per month

What you will do

• Develop explainable AI models to represent how micromobility risks emerge and interact with infrastructure and behavior.
• Fuse heterogeneous data sources including crash records, shared micromobility traces, sensors, and traffic cameras.
• Design algorithms for detecting safety risks, identifying unsafe behaviors, and predicting emerging hazards.
• Test and refine models using XR experiments and pilot city sensor networks.
• Contribute to the development of the SAFE MOVE integrated data platform.
• Collaborate with European partners to translate results into actionable insights for the municipality of Amsterdam.

Requirements

• MSc degree in data science, computer science, or equivalent.
• Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency in statistics and machine learning.
• Relocation to the Netherlands is required.
• Excellent English communication and writing skills for scientific publications and thesis.
• Interest or experience in road safety, mobility, or transportation research.

Nice to have

• Experience in machine learning.
• Experience developing a data platform.
