What you will do

• Architect and develop innovative networking features in C/C++ and Python for the Linux-based EOS.
• Collaborate with product management and customers to define functional requirements and technical designs.
• Own the full project lifecycle by writing functional specifications, design documents, and test plans.
• Develop automated tests and monitor execution to ensure high-quality, robust code.
• Partner with Customer Support Engineers to triage, debug, and resolve complex network issues for clients.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers to foster a high-quality engineering culture.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (BSc, MS, or PhD).
• Strong demonstrable software development experience in C/C++ and/or Python.
• Proficiency in systems programming, specifically within UNIX/Linux environments.
• Strong interest in computer networking technologies and applied software engineering principles.
• Legal entitlement to work in Australia for the duration of employment

Nice to have

• Deep understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, Spanning Tree, and LACP.
• Experience in the design of ethernet bridging, routing software, or distributed systems.
• Experience with enterprise or service provider class Ethernet switch/router system software development.
• Familiarity with distributed systems infrastructure including messaging, signalling, and databases.
