TL;DR

Senior Rendering Engineer (C++/DirectX 12/Vulkan/Metal): Developing high-performance rendering features and graphics systems for AAA games, real-time simulation, and XR with an accent on low-level engine code and frame-time optimization. Focus on profiling GPU/CPU bottlenecks, implementing GPU-driven culling, and extending custom C++ architectures.

Location: Fully remote from the UK or the EU

What you will do

  • Turn artistic vision into scalable, shippable rendering technology.
  • Build and improve rendering features across PC, consoles, and Mac.
  • Profile and resolve GPU/CPU bottlenecks, including occupancy, tile memory pressure, and bandwidth.
  • Implement modern pipeline techniques such as GPU-driven culling, indirect command buffers, and bindless architectures.
  • Contribute to GPU memory management using modern API features and memory heaps.
  • Extend major engines, including Unreal Engine source, and custom C++ architectures.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience shipping rendering systems for AAA, film/VFX, XR, or simulation.
  • Strong proficiency in modern C++ and shader authoring/debugging (HLSL, MSL, or GLSL).
  • Production experience with Metal, DirectX 12, Vulkan, or GNM/GNMX.
  • Working knowledge of rasterization, compute, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
  • Familiarity with PBR, GI, volumetrics, and post-processing (AA, HDR, tone mapping).
  • Must be based in the UK or the EU.

Nice to have

  • Practical experience with mesh shading pipelines (DX12, Vulkan, Metal).
  • Familiarity with console and Apple Silicon unified memory architectures.
  • Exposure to ray tracing or compute-driven rendering.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine source modifications.
