TL;DR

Principal Rendering Engineer (C++/Graphics): Designing and implementing high-performance rendering backends for AAA games across PC, consoles, and Mac with an accent on low-level engine code and GPU-driven pipelines. Focus on optimizing frame-time, resolving GPU/CPU bottlenecks, and extending custom C++ architectures.

Location: Fully remote from the UK or the EU

What you will do

  • Develop scalable rendering technology to translate artistic visions into shippable products.
  • Build and maintain high-performance rendering backends for PC, consoles, and Mac with clean abstractions.
  • Profile and resolve deep GPU/CPU bottlenecks, including occupancy, memory pressure, and bandwidth.
  • Modernize pipelines using GPU-driven culling, indirect command buffers, and bindless architectures.
  • Extend Unreal Engine source and custom C++ architectures.
  • Represent the studio through technical white papers and industry presentations.

Requirements

  • Proven track record shipping high-performance rendering systems for AAA games, film/VFX, or XR.
  • Expertise in modern C++ and shader authoring/debugging (HLSL, MSL, or GLSL).
  • Production experience with at least two of Metal, DirectX 12, Vulkan, or GNM/GNMX.
  • Deep knowledge of the full pipeline: rasterization, compute, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
  • Proficiency in PBR, GI, volumetrics, and current GPU-driven pipelines.
  • Must be based in the UK or the EU.

Nice to have

  • Practical experience with mesh shading pipelines (DX12, Vulkan, Metal).
  • Familiarity with Apple Silicon unified memory architectures.
  • Experience with shipped ray tracing or heavily compute-driven rendering.
  • Extensive experience with Unreal Engine source modifications.
