Manufacturing Process Engineer (Electrical Quality & Standards)

TL;DR

Manufacturing Process Engineer (Electrical Quality & Standards): Improving electrical build quality across GM’s global manufacturing network with an accent on standardizing processes and reducing defects. Focus on driving the adoption of Bill of Operations (BoO) standards and utilizing quality data to improve first-time quality (EFTQ).

Location: Warren, Michigan. Must report to the Warren Tech Center on a full-time basis. Requires approximately 50% domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Update and communicate electrical BoO standards to ensure consistent global execution.
• Partner with vehicle assembly plants to drive the adoption of electrical manufacturing processes.
• Identify execution gaps and implement corrective actions, standardized work, and error-proofing.
• Use quality data, including EFTQ and warranty trends, to prioritize initiatives and measure impact.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, suppliers, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in electrical manufacturing, product engineering, or quality within high-volume production (automotive preferred).
• Hands-on exposure to vehicle electrical systems, including harnessing, modules, and connectivity.
• Proficiency in structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Working knowledge of quality systems such as PFMEA, Control Plans, and layered audits.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with vehicle program launches.
• Direct vehicle assembly manufacturing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
