What you will do

• Maintain and troubleshoot the NextGen Classic application, including VB6 components and SQL Server databases.
• Contribute to NextGen 2.0 development using C#, Blazor, and WiseJ to build modern web application components.
• Utilize AI-assisted and agentic development tools for code analysis, debugging, and documentation.
• Migrate legacy functionality into modern .NET-based services and APIs.
• Collaborate with Product Management, QA, and Support to investigate issues and deliver technical solutions.
• Write and optimize SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and data troubleshooting tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–7 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in C#, .NET, Java, or another enterprise application stack.
• Strong experience with relational databases, specifically SQL Server.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants in a regular development workflow.
• Must be based in or authorized to work in the United States (Alabama).

Nice to have

• Experience with VB6, VBA, or classic ASP.
• Knowledge of Blazor or WiseJ.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Microsoft Azure, or IIS.
• Interest in accounting, finance, or K-12 education technology.
