Technical Trainer (Medical Devices)

Location: On-site in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, United States; applicants must reside within a reasonable commuting distance. Up to 50% travel is required.

Annual salary: $75,000–$88,000.

What you will do

• Deliver hands-on and virtual technical training to biomedical engineers, technicians, customers, distributors, and business partners.
• Provide subject-matter expertise on ventilators, aspirators, defibrillators, and other Acute Care Technology products, including operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Develop courseware using LMS tools, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, graphics, and multimedia software.
• Support technical service and troubleshooting teams and collaborate with video production and e-learning developers.
• Revise curricula, manage training equipment and tools, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Train new hires and assess and certify trainers in domestic and international programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience as a technical trainer, service technician, or in a relevant role is preferred.
• Background in electronics, clinical engineering, or biomedical engineering.
• Experience with technical writing, classroom instruction, modern training tools, and course development software.
• Customer-facing experience as a technical expert and strong communication, documentation, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
• Experience with mechanical ventilators, instructor-led training, virtual training, or hands-on technical training is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience working as a mechanical ventilator technician or respiratory therapist.
• Experience delivering technical training to customers, public audiences, and internal teams.
