Data Engineer (Financial Markets)

TL;DR

Data Engineer (Financial Markets): Designing and building robust data pipelines and database structures for financial and trading data with an accent on ETL/ELT efficiency and data quality. Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Dubai, Limassol, or London

Salary: $6,600–$8,300/month gross

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for financial and trading data.
• Manage data storage and querying using ClickHouse, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and Kafka.
• Collaborate with quantitative analysts and risk managers to deliver clean, structured datasets.
• Develop financial data dashboards, APIs, and automated reporting tools.
• Implement data quality, governance, and lineage standards.
• Optimize database performance and provide production troubleshooting support.

Requirements

• Degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, etc.).
• Strong Python development skills (pandas, NumPy).
• Strong SQL knowledge.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Docker.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Solid understanding of financial data structures (trades, positions, market data).

Nice to have

• Experience in a financial markets environment (brokerage, hedge fund, trading desk).
• Exposure to Quant workflows (risk models, backtesting, alpha research).
• DevOps skills (Kubernetes, Terraform, Airflow).
• Experience with real-time data streams (Kafka, Redis).
• Familiarity with CFD brokerage infrastructure (MT4/MT5, liquidity bridges).
