TL;DR

Head of Collections and Recovery Strategy (Fintech): Designing and scaling the end-to-end collections and recoveries operation for a rapidly growing US loan book with an accent on process re-engineering, data-driven strategy, and vendor management. Focus on building an analytics function, optimizing delinquency lifecycle performance, and ensuring regulatory compliance in the US market.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Virginia (Hybrid)

Compensation: $200,000–$250,000 per year + Equity

A profitable, high-growth fintech unicorn rebuilding consumer finance products like loans, credit cards, and car finance using modern technology.

What you will do

  • Audit and redesign the entire collections and recoveries operation from first principles.
  • Define and own the collections strategy across the full delinquency lifecycle, including charge-off and recovery.
  • Build and lead the collections analytics function, including model development and metric definition.
  • Manage relationships with third-party collections agencies and legal partners to ensure performance accountability.
  • Partner with product and tech teams to implement scalable automation and tooling.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance to maintain a robust regulatory framework across US states.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of experience in US consumer collections or recoveries, ideally within a fast-moving fintech environment.
  • Deep familiarity with the US regulatory landscape (FDCPA, state-level rules).
  • Strong hands-on analytics capability with experience building models and defining performance metrics.
  • Proven track record of redesigning complex operational processes from the ground up.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders including product, risk, and senior leadership.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US.
