What you will do

• Drive product development for semiconductor inspection systems focusing on performance, robustness, and manufacturability.
• Lead system-level integration across optics, imaging, hardware, software, and application workflows.
• Analyze product performance and develop solutions to enhance inspection sensitivity, stability, and throughput.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate system behavior, performance trade-offs, and engineering risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to root-cause technical issues and drive corrective actions.
• Translate customer needs into engineering requirements and validation plans.

Requirements

• PhD in engineering or physical sciences OR Master's with 3+ years experience OR Bachelor's with 5+ years experience.
• Solid understanding of optical imaging systems and their key components.
• Experience in optical system modeling and performance analysis.
• Hands-on experience with optical microscopy techniques.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as MATLAB or Python.
• Must be based in or able to work from Milpitas, CA.

Nice to have

• Good understanding of Fourier optics and geometric optics.
