What you will do

• Own month-end tasks, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L variance analysis.
• Manage quarterly VAT returns and process customer refunds in adherence to AML requirements.
• Create automations and efficiencies in existing processes to reduce month-end turnaround time.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve finance-related queries.
• Track user balance cashflow movements and support FP&A with accurate re-forecasts.
• Prepare financial reports and invoices for key customers while monitoring contract spend.

Requirements

• Recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA preferred).
• Must be based in the UK.
• Proven experience performing month-end tasks and delivering high-quality work on time.
• Experience working with large data sets and a keen eye for identifying discrepancies.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment.
• Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders from non-finance backgrounds.

Nice to have

• Experience working with Xero and Google Sheets.
• Interest in leveraging AI to improve financial processes and efficiency.
• Experience implementing new finance software or supporting the audit process.
