TL;DR
MSL (Material Science Lab) Intern Data Scientist (ML Model Development & Full-Stack Integration) (AI): Developing human decision algorithms, image-classification ML models, and full-stack dashboards for automated defect, particle, and contamination classification with an accent on computer vision, model deployment, and real-time monitoring. Focus on training and optimizing models, integrating backend services with frontend interfaces, and building scalable MLOps workflows for manufacturing and laboratory use.
Location: Korat, Thailand

What you will do
- Create human decision algorithms based on expert engineer workflows for defect, particle, and contamination classification.
- Design and train image-classification models using labelled datasets and machine learning methods.
- Build a full-stack dashboard for model deployment, monitoring, validation, and real-time performance tracking.
- Integrate backend services with frontend interfaces and create workflows for automated image-classification tools.
- Work with data scientists, engineers, laboratory teams, and IT to define requirements and configure server processing capacity.
- Document development, prepare end-user training materials, and report project progress and results.
Requirements
- Degree or master's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Programming skills in Python, JavaScript, C++, and SQL.
- Knowledge of machine learning and image classification, including CNNs and transfer learning.
- Experience with Python ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn, including data preprocessing, training, evaluation, and model optimization.
- Understanding of full-stack development with technologies such as Node, Flask, Django, or React, plus REST APIs, Docker, Git, Linux, databases, cloud platforms, and virtual machines.
- Fluent spoken and written English communication is required.
Nice to have
- Project experience in ML model development and deployment.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and connecting frontend and backend components.
- Knowledge of IoT, KNIME, image processing, MATLAB, vision systems, data networking, and coding.
