What you will do

• Build and own shared Go libraries for data access, messaging, and service communication used across the company.
• Design intuitive APIs with thoughtful defaults, clean abstractions, and strict backward compatibility.
• Develop multi-cloud abstractions to enable services to run across different providers and on-premise environments.
• Implement reusable resilience patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, and load shedding.
• Manage the security posture of shared dependencies, including vulnerability remediation and secure defaults.
• Partner with Infrastructure, SRE, and Observability teams to align libraries with operational reality.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in Go, specifically in designing production libraries or frameworks consumed by other teams.
• Deep experience with distributed systems, message brokers, and data store failure modes.
• Proven track record in API design, versioning, and maintaining migration paths.
• Experience with major cloud providers, including multi-region or multi-cloud patterns.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in platform, infrastructure, or developer tools.
• Must be based in Australia

Nice to have

• Contributions to widely-adopted open-source libraries.
• Experience with developer experience (DevEx), such as migration tooling or developer portals.
• Deep knowledge of messaging system internals, partition strategies, and delivery guarantees.
• Expertise in distributed tracing, metrics pipelines, and structured logging.
