What you will do

• Build and own shared Go libraries for data access, messaging, service communication, and observability.
• Design clean, backward-compatible APIs and abstractions to be adopted by dozens of engineering teams.
• Implement multi-cloud abstractions that enable services to run across various providers and on-premise environments.
• Develop reusable resilience primitives such as circuit breakers, retries, and load shedding.
• Manage the security posture of shared dependencies, remediating vulnerabilities and shipping secure defaults.
• Collaborate with SRE, Infrastructure, and Data Services teams to align libraries with operational realities.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in Go, with experience building production libraries or frameworks.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, including message brokers and data stores.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, specifically in platform, infrastructure, or developer tools.
• Meaningful experience with major cloud providers and multi-region/multi-cloud patterns.
• Operational maturity with a track record of owning production reliability and debugging complex incidents.
• Must be based in Australia

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to widely-adopted open-source libraries.
• Background in developer experience (DevEx), migration tooling, or developer portals.
• Deep knowledge of messaging system internals, such as partition strategies and delivery guarantees.
• Expertise in observability, including distributed tracing and metrics pipelines.
