What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain Go-based backend services and APIs supporting scientific and computational workflows.
- Deploy and troubleshoot services within Kubernetes (EKS) environments.
- Implement and maintain observability systems including logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure system reliability.
- Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams for seamless integration with cloud-native systems.
- Participate in system design discussions focused on scalability, performance, and observability.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Strong production-grade experience building backend systems in Go.
- Proven experience with Kubernetes, specifically AWS EKS, in production.
- Solid background in designing RESTful APIs and cloud-native architecture.
- Experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK, or OpenTelemetry.
- Working knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC) and strong Linux fundamentals.
- Working hours must overlap with US Pacific Time (12:00 PM – 5:00 PM PST).
