What you will do

• Manage a team of anchors, producers, and editors to oversee daily newscast operations across broadcast and digital platforms.
• Lead editorial planning and operations, specifically managing the team during weekend shifts.
• Collaborate with the Executive Producer to develop editorial strategies and expand the unit's reach.
• Direct the hiring, onboarding, and professional development of new talent.
• Mentor team members and provide clear, constructive performance feedback.
• Act as a liaison between the newscast unit, member stations, and other organizations to promote short-form journalism.

Requirements

• Must be based in Washington, D.C. (On-site).
• At least 12 years of experience in daily news production.
• At least 10 years of experience as an editor or producer with demonstrated independent news judgment.
• At least 5 years of experience managing direct reports in a journalism newsroom.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional work experience.
• Proficiency in project management and knowledge of audio, digital, and video production.

Nice to have

• Experience in editorial innovation, such as launching and supporting new products.
• Proficiency in multiple formats including radio, video, digital text, and podcasting.
