Senior Principal Software/Firmware Engineer - Optical PHY (Optical PHY)

Salary: $177,820–$266,400 per year, plus bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Develop highly functional software prototypes from high-level architectural specifications.
• Embed periodically with product design teams to turn architectural concepts into product features.
• Integrate designs into product codebases without disrupting existing operation.
• Document designs and facilitate knowledge transfer for implementation and maintenance teams.
• Address strategic technical problems and critical customer requirements for optical and connectivity products.
• Share implementation insights and propagate engineering best practices across design teams.

Requirements

• Postgraduate degree in EECS or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of embedded design experience in the wired or optical communications industry.
• Technical leadership experience with Optical PHY products and exposure to customer support.
• Strong firmware engineering background with working knowledge of digital design, or the equivalent combination in reverse.
• Understanding of protocol, software, hardware, and human interactions.
• Strong communication, listening, and teaching skills.
