Salary: £57,700 + depending on experience

What you will do

• Lead the evaluation, specification, and implementation of advanced powertrain and test cell technologies.
• Design and optimize mechanical systems, including cooling, fuel, exhaust, and safety services.
• Provide technical leadership for facility upgrades to support ICE, hybrid, and EV testing.
• Oversee design modifications for facilities, test rigs, and equipment.
• Lead cross-functional project delivery involving internal teams, suppliers, and contractors.
• Conduct complex fault finding and root cause analysis across test facilities.

Requirements

• Must be based in or be able to work onsite in Peterborough, UK
• Significant experience in engine, powertrain, or electrified (EV/Hybrid) test facilities.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or extensive equivalent industry experience.
• Proficiency in CAD design using CREO or similar 3D modelling tools.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and deliver complex engineering solutions.
• Strong systems-level thinking for integrating mechanical, thermal, and safety requirements.

Nice to have

• Expertise in strategic facility planning or capital project delivery.
• Deep understanding of core engine systems such as rotating systems, valvetrain, lubrication, and cooling.
• Experience managing suppliers to deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
