Contract Software Engineer – Data Serving Platform (Fintech)

What you will do

• Scale data access for compute-heavy research workloads.
• Handle data loading and distribution across C# and JVM-based systems.
• Rewrite and modernize existing C# libraries.
• Support and improve core data holding and access infrastructure.
• Replace legacy C# server components with event-driven Kafka solutions.
• Improve reliability, throughput, and performance of data pipelines.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with C# or another typed language.
• Experience within financial services modernising C# software.
• Solid data processing and data engineering experience.
• Experience working on data platforms or data access layers.
• Exposure to distributed systems and messaging platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka.
